Greater Brass Scorpion Painted for the BAO
The paint scheme is pretty simple, it's more to do with the materials than anything. I started off by priming the model black, then using the two shades of Army Painter red (Dragon Red and Pure Red) to create a gradient with the black. The metallic areas were given a coat of Leadblecher, then Nuln Oil, followed by a drybrush of Leadbelcher and finally a drybrush of Chainmail. After that was done, the red was given a coat of Tamiya Clear red, and finally the trim was finished with Vallejo Liquid Gold, Old Gold shade. Not horribly complex, but I'm very pleased with the results. After the tournament, I'll probably hit the rivets in the armour with some Reikland Fleshshade, as well as doing general weathering with some gore, dust and battle damage.
